We designed the paper to connect in a triangle with slits in the ends of the strain at first, then we tried a different approach and tried to have the paper on it sides and that seemed to work, but due to time constraints we couldnt perfect the new designed that allowed the paper to stay on the bridge.
Our final product had the the slits in the paper and was about 13 inches long, and had paper on the blocks to hold the paper up.
This is the actual design process that is used to make this product:
Problem: Make a paper bridge using two blocks and a piece of paper ina 10 mintue time contraint, and the paper can not touch the table.
Generated Solutions: WE thought of cuting small pieces of paper and stacking them, long strips with slits at the end and connecting the paper through slits, and last fold paper pieces into each other.
Develope Solution: WE combined two solutions we connected the paper with the slits and foled them into each other as well so the paper was not as flimsy.
Prototype: the prototype worked fine, but the bridge was not that long, also due to time contraint the prototype was also the final design.
Evalute Design: The final design was up to 13 inches long and help up off the ground.
